Ngelekanyo Ramulondi
The world should be on the lookout for Generations: The Legacy’s supporting actress, Ngelekanyo Ramulondi. Just as her name Ngelekanyo means “Wisdom”, she is a living embodiment of that. This is visible with the attitude and respect she has for her craft.
The emerging star knew that she wanted to be on the big screen from an early stage. From childhood, her fantasies were of fame but coming into her adolescence ages, she came to a realisation that acting made her and the people around her “feel”.
From commercials on the national television broadcast, to being on an international series aired on the British Broadcasting Corporation, and now being on one of the biggest soapies in South Africa-it should be noted that this is only the beginning. She is definitely multi-faceted as she also writes and is currently working on her body of work.
The thespian holds a BA in Live Performance from AFDA and is a full supporter of “Open Up The Industry” movement. She advises the importance of formal training from multiple learning opportunities available out there, since not everyone can afford to get a degree. She said that to be an actor, one has to put in the work. Training teaches you having discipline with your talent or gift.
“My first day was pretty hectic, only because I was a mixture of excited, anxious and everything you can imagine- walking into such a well-known place like the SABC”, expressed Ngele on her experience on the first day on the set of “Generations: The Legacy”.
She went on to say the platform is so warm and welcoming, and it leads her nerves to rest. Her co-workers make her feel as though she has known them and worked with them for years, even when they have just met. “The atmosphere is based on a profound common respect which makes going to work a joy. There is definitely a technical side to it-it may be fun, but we’re there to work”.

Ngele (above): “I really want to have my own production house one day. Ri na zwitori zwinzhi zwavhudi (we have a lot of amazing stories to tell) and incredibly gifted creatives, we just lack the resources. It’s great to see productions like the Limpopo Home Cinema put their best foot forward in building a foundation for a Limpopo Entertainment industry. I cannot wait to see us grow as Vhavenda”.
Words from Ngele:
1. If there is a fire in you, never give up
2. There are so many ups and downs but it’s important to let those moments teach you something along the way
3. It’s in the journey, not the destination
4. And as cliché as it might sound, BE YOURSELF. There are way too many people out there for you to try and be someone else. The only person missing is you so stay true to yourself.
